Job Description:
My job is mainly sales based dealing with New Business quotes for liability and small commercial businesses such as offices, shops, restaurants and guest houses. I also invite renewals for liability cases and dealing with incoming queries on the telephone. Everyone is very helpful and friendly and there is a great office atmosphere, which is nice when working for quite a large company.

Training:
I am currently studying for my I F exams and will then hope to go on to my diploma exams.

Background:
I am from Street and have previous experience in retail working part time whilst studying at college. I have four A Levels, which are Maths, Business Studies, Law and Psychology. I am finding that Business and Law are going to be very beneficial at a later stage.

Commercial Account Executive

Job Description:
I started at Higos with 3 years personal lines insurance experience from a high street broker. I now look after a portfolio of medium and high net worth clients, who spend between £7,500 and £100,000 on their insurance annually. I am responsible for my existing client portfolio as well as writing new business. The type of businesses I deal with could be practically anything and I have clients as wide ranging as machine tool manufacturing for the oil industry to residential property owners. The type of insurance policies I deal with could also be practically anything from marine and aviation insurance to liability and commercial property to private medical insurance. The job is client facing and I spend most of my time on the road visiting clients. Higos provides me with facilities for working from home and on the move including a laptop and a blackberry. The job is really about establishing longstanding, friendly and trusted relationships with clients whilst offering them sound professional insurance advice.

Training:
Higos have given me all the support I could ask for in training. This has enabled me to obtain Dip CII within 5 years of being here. If you are prepared to put yourself forward, the opportunities to learn are endless.

Background:
I grew up in Dorset and went to school in Shaftesbury. After studying A-Levels and a brief foray at University, I worked in a printers before travelling round the world for a year. After arriving back in the UK, I had various jobs before landing the job with the personal lines broker and the rest is history.

Assistant Section Leader

Job Description:
I had no previous experience in the insurance industry when I joined Higos.  I now co manage a team of 10 staff- my daily work involves auditing staff and doing reports, team queries, working with Insurers on schemes, management of leads and training of new staff among other things. I have enjoyed working with all the staff at Higos which has made it a pleasant working environment. I believe Higos provides opportunities for people to progress into higher jobs and the qualifications that staff are able to do are impressive.

Training:
I have had numerous training- IF1, IF2, IF5, P10, 745 and just about to start PO5- I have also done 9 BIBA courses ranging from engineering to Professional Indemnity, Motor training, telephone training, induction training to include system training just to name a few. I also have the IOSH Health and Safety Qualification- this is something that I asked to do that Higos paid for.

Background:
I was educated at Bruton School for Girls- GCSE'S and Sexey's School- A Levels.  I previously worked as a care assistant in a nursing home as I had a place at Southampton University to do Nursing.

Job Description:
My job when I first started involved dealing with all motor clients, I have now been trained to deal with different aspects of insurance including household and travel insurance. I work in a high street branch which involves dealing with clients face to face as well as taking telephone calls.

Training:

When I first joined the company I was trained on several different aspects relating to insurance some of these included money laundering, customer service, the history of insurance, the different types of polices we offer plus many more. I am currently working towards gaining a certificate in Insurance, legal and regulatory principles and I am hoping to have passed this by the end of June 2008. I enjoy working at Higos because they offer different ways and options in furthering your career. The people I work with welcomed me into their team and working life has been a good balance of being able to enjoy work but at the same you can gain the rewards for your hard work.

Background:
When I left secondary school I left with a C grade in Maths and Science and a B grade in English. I went straight into work when I finished school, a year later I went to Strode College part time to complete a course in Business and Administration in which I obtained a certificate for. Since then I have worked in a retail job and in a solicitors.
