Recession? What recession?Monday 15th September 2008
The continual expansion of Higos Insurance Services reaches another climax this month, with an acquisition in Bridgwater. Blake Insurance Services, of North Street, became the seventh high street branch acquisition for Higos Insurance Services Ltd, taking their total of high street branches to eleven.
Higos show no signs of slowing down, despite the instability of the economy and the prediction of a recession. The goal of becoming a Top 50 Broker by 2010 is still very much a top priority and high on the agenda at Higos.
The acquisition strategy is based on careful selection of professional local brokers with strong community ties and has been a successful strategy for previous acquisitions including Mike Deverell in Langport and Somerton and Colin Foster in Glastonbury. The branch network complements the existing Higos distribution channels of Financial Advisors and other brokers and will be supported by local marketing initiatives to encourage increased community use of the shop network, which include high street branches in Street and later this year in Wells.
The Managing Director of Higos, Ian Gosden is thrilled with this new acquisition and the continued development of the company’s high street strategy, "Even in the current climate, we are proving there are still great opportunities. We have expanded our South West branch network and Blake Insurance Services is a successful local broker with a quality, loyal customer base." Mike and Kim Dodden, who established Blake Insurance Services in 1995, were equally enthusiastic about joining Higos and Kim said, "Higos demonstrated a professional and personal approach across on all types of insurance, especially commercial. We are certain they will continue looking after Blake customers, in the exactly the same way as we have all these years."
