Higos Founder Named Broker Manager of the YearThursday 17th September 2009
Higos Insurance Services managing director Ian Gosden has been chosen as the first Broker Manager of the Year in the prestigious 2009 UK Broker Awards.
The category was introduced this year to recognise an ‘exceptional broker manager with a commitment to their team, the business and clients’.
Gosden was selected for his successful, innovative management strategy, commitment to investing in people, leadership skills and results in terms of business growth and innovation.
"This award highlights the traditional insurance broker model still has an important place in today’s market," said Gosden.
"While insurers have been increasingly cutting jobs and moving to overseas call centres, Higos has continued to follow its strategy to deliver high quality client service from a well trained workforce."
Higos currently has 14 branches in Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Dorset, Devon, Hampshire and Wiltshire, with further branches to open before the end of the year. Its target is to have 35 branches by the end of 2013.
Staff development has been at the centre of the firm’s success with a nationally recognised training programme. 90% of the workforce are currently studying towards a recognised insurance qualification and 60% of staff already hold a professional qualification.
Higos also currently holds the Insurance Times ‘Independent Regional Broker of the Year’ Award.
