Higos Supports Riders In The Sky 2012Wednesday 23rd May 2012
Higos Insurance Services is delighted to support to Riders In The Sky 2012, a local group who are raising money in aid of The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. Michael Constanza, Branch Manager of Higos’ Street branch, presented a cheque for £100 to members of the Riders In The Sky group last week.
On 20th May 2012 a charity ride out and fun day was held at Tor Leisure in Glastonbury in memory Lee Baker who died on Wells bypass in November 2010. Riders In The Sky was formed after Lee Baker was killed on 8th November 2010.. Lee was a dedicated charity supporter doing many different ventures to raise money for charity from sky dives to naked calendars. After his death we wanted to organise an event in memory of him and do something he would of loved.
An action packed day started with a 70 mile local ride out at 10:00am. The bikes returned at 12:30pm, when the family fun day began. In 2011 over two thousand people turn up throughout the day and raised £9018.45 - the single highest amount raised for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance in 2011.
