Higos Supports S.U.R.E.Tuesday 23rd December 2014
Higos Insurance Services is delighted to support S.U.R.E. – the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment.
S.U.R.E. is a local charity which is run by volunteers and provides vital equipment for cancer treatment at the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital. This is a local charity for local people which helps to eliminate the need for cancer sufferers to go to Bristol for treatment. Since the Beacon Centre opened in 2009, S.U.R.E. have donated over £1.8M worth of equipment and running costs.
Paul Alway, S.U.R.E. Chairman commented “Thank you so much for donating £500 from the Higos Community Fund, your generous donation will go towards the Big Bore CT scanner appeal, it is much appreciated and will make a big difference in 2017 when the existing scanner purchased by S.U.R.E. reaches the end of its life. Without a replacement, radiotherapy patients would likely have to travel to Bristol for this first stage in planning their treatment so S.U.R.E. is focussing its efforts over the next two years on reaching the £400-500,000 needed for the replacement.”
