HIGOS SUPPORTS NAOMI HOUSE & JACKSPLACEWednesday 28th October 2015
Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices provide expert care to life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families across Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Surrey, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. The hospices have an emphasis on innovation, clinical excellence and holistic care meaning that they can care for children and young people with the most complex of needs, providing nursing, care, play and crucial family support during the good days, difficult days and last days.
The standard of care provided by Naomi House & Jacksplace costs £7 million per year, with only 10% of income coming from the Government and statutory sources.
Karen Coleman of Naomi House & Jacksplace commented “Thank you so much for your donation of £500.00 kindly given from The Higos Community Fund. We have recently refurbished and after a year’s wait Naomi House is now fully operational and we welcomed the first children and their families through the doors at the end of September. We now have more space, advanced medical technologies that help care for children with increasingly complex needs, updated parent accommodation with lift access, wonderful gardens with all inclusive play equipment, including an impressive galleon – we really are thrilled with our new Naomi House! We know that this couldn’t have been achieved without the generosity, enthusiasm and support of individuals, groups and businesses in the community, so again please accept our heartfelt thanks.”
