An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Personal Lines Advisor to join our busy and successful Bridport Office. The role will include looking after an established book of existing personal lines business whilst managing and retaining customer relationships. The individual will be expected to look for opportunities to grow and develop the existing book and secure new customers.

Accountabilities

  • Provide an excellent customer experience ensuring that everyone is treated in a warm, friendly and respectful manner that shows interest in their genuine needs and leaves them feeling valued as a customer.
  • Meet and exceed personal sales and/or other relevant targets, contributing towards the team’s overall service and sales objectives/KPI’s.
  • Carry out a range of administrative duties ensuring prompt and accurate completion of all administration requirements within Company standards.
  • Complete all roles and tasks as required by your line manager, ensuring all operational priorities and Higos rules, procedures and policies for risk and compliance are adhered to.
  • Complete any training that is deemed necessary for your role and fully prepare for your regular one-to-ones and annual year end review, ensuring that you discuss activity around your agreed development plan and that all training is completed on time.
  • As and when required undertake small projects and/or provide specialist input into wider business projects and initiatives.
  • Adherence to our Training & Competency scheme.
  • Up to date Continuous Professional Development.
  • If successful you will be serving customers over the phone and face to face in the branch therefore the role would suit an individual who is confident, personable and can provide excellent customer service.
  • The role would include handling the lifecycle of a policy from New Business to renewal including mid term adjustments and customer queries, attention to detail is a must have.
  • Insurance experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential, we would welcome someone from a financial services background and full training can be provided.

Job Purpose

The candidate to fulfil this role should have previous Insurance experience within the Personal Lines arena, with an adaptable style, ideally with Thatch Insurance knowledge who can meet retention targets and new business targets yet still provide excellent customer service.

The team comprise of a wealth of experience handling, a renewal book of approximately 150 polices per month and during 2023 wrote £203,000 of new business income.

Overview

Higos Insurance Services (part of Brown & Brown Europe) are currently looking for a Professional Indemnity Manager to join the successful and experienced centralised team based out of brand new offices in Bath.

Higos prides itself on being a market leading regional broker with a strong reputation of service gathered from over 30 years’ and operating from multiple office locations across the South West. The PI Manager is central to these offices and alongside the team will deal with the larger or technical specific businesses associated with professional indemnity such as accountants, engineers, surveyors, architects, safety providers and many others. Access to various, sometimes unique market wordings and online underwriting systems will give you and the team a strong position in finding the most appropriate insurances to suit a clients demands and needs.

In this position you will support & manage your team to achieve the required renewals and new business results whilst adhering to company procedures and regulatory requirements delivering a high standard of customer service. You will promote the business and set behavioural standards while maintaining consistent positivity and approachability and liaising with relevant support functions to ensure your teams needs are met. Promote the values of the business and communicate them.

This is a long term and progressive opportunity with a stable and reputable broker. You will need good PI knowledge either from broking or underwriting and enjoy the challenge of being a central point of contact and leading others.

The day to day:

  • Meet and deliver against your agreed Renewal Retention and/or New Business Targets, contributing towards the teams overall budget targets & KPI’s
  • Complete all roles and tasks as required by your line manager, ensuring you adhere to Higos procedures and policies at all times

  • Comply and manage your teams credit control
  • Debt Management - ensure all monies are collected and allocated appropriately and keep line manager informed of any current, potential or perceived problems with bad debt.
  • Manage and prioritise your diaries/tasks, these are to be kept up to date
  • Audit your staff 1 per month and feedback / Carry out Annual and Mid-Year reviews with your team members
  • Manage staffing levels including recruitment
  • Complete any training that is deemed necessary for your role and fully prepare for your regular 1-2-1s and year-end review. Ensure you agree and complete the actions set in line with your development plan.
  • Ensure all training is completed to deadline set for you and your team. Log all training and development on your Continuous Professional Development Plan (CPD)

Job Purpose

Support your Agency Development Executives to achieve the required income results and contribute towards team/individual targets, whilst offering a bespoke high level service, adhering to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
