Higos Insurance Services Ltd is a leading and highly regarded Insurance Broker in the UK general insurance market. The company has its head office in Wells in Somerset with an increasing number of branch locations spread across several counties.

Higos was founded in 1990 and is enjoying the success of having a strong growth strategy.  The company enjoys a strong reputation in both the South West and nationally.  In recent years the company has experienced continual growth of existing business and has moved into new markets.

We employ circa 200 people across a number of different locations. We are committed to remaining a U.K. based company.

Staff training and career development have always been at the core of the Higos culture. Our commitment to quality and service through the training of our staff is highlighted by the following:

• Higos have one of the highest levels of qualified staff in the broking market with over 75% of the workforce having achieved or working towards a nationally recognised Insurance qualification. All of our senior staff are working towards their Diploma in Insurance Practice. Our pass rate for the Certificate in Insurance exams is 89% compared to the industry average of 70%
• As recognition of our support towards modern apprenticeships, we were awarded with 'Employer of the Year' by the Learning and Skills Council in both 2004 and 2005, and presented with a Highly Commended Status by the judges
• We were awarded the Somerset Business of the Year for Training in 2004
• We were awarded with the Investor in People Standard in May 2003 and announced our continuance of the Investors in People recognition award in 2008
• We won the Training Award at the British Insurance Awards 2006
• We were Highly Commended for the Investor in People award at the UK Broker Awards 2006, as well as winning the Private Clients Service award
• Our branch manager Kate Reilly won the The Sheikh Abdullah Foundation BIBA Young Broker of the Year Award in May 2008

Higos prides itself on the fact that each member of staff is fully trained and knowledgeable within their job. It is a requirement of the company that all employees achieve their Certificate of Insurance within an 18 month period.
