Higos Supports the Joe Glover TrustMonday 30th July 2012

Higos Insurance Services is delighted to support the Joe Glover Trust, a local charity which works with families and specialist children’s cancer units to improve the quality of lives of children and their families affected by cancer. Andrew Shore, Branch Manager of Higos’ Southampton branch, presented a cheque for £500 to Jane Wilmshurst, Regional Officer for the Joe Glover Trust on 17th July, 2012 outside Higos’ branch at Water Lane, Totton.

The Trust was formed in 2007 following the death of eight-year-old Joe Glover to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and is run by parents who have first hand experience of these life changing events.

The Trust receives no government funding and relies solely on donations and fundraising to continue the work of the charity.

Andrew Shore commented “We are delighted to support the Joe Glover Trust, a local charity helping families in our area. We know how much the Trust relies on fundraising to keep the charity going and we are pleased to be able to help.”

Jane Wilmshurst commented "As a local children's cancer charity, The Joe Glover Trust is delighted Higos Insurance has chosen to support us. We are truly grateful for their donation of £500 which will help us support more families who are experiencing financial difficulty following their child being diagnosed with cancer. We thank you for helping us make a real difference to the lives of children and their families. We provide financial grants to families to help with the additional costs of caring for a child on cancer treatment as this can go on for many months, even several years. There is often a major impact on their family finances when a child is diagnosed with cancer, with many parents being forced to give up work or take unpaid leave to care for their sick child".
