Higos Insurance Services supports local schools with books fundingTuesday 16th February 2016
Higos Insurance Services has recently supported St Michael’s CE (VA) Primary School, Lyme Regis and St Mary’s C.E.V.C. Primary School, Bradford Abbas to purchase essential books for their school libraries.
Elaine Street, a member of St Michael’s Parents and Friends Association and an employee at the Higos Bridport branch, commented “St Michael’s had been campaigning for several items, in particular reading books for Key Stage 2 for children with reading difficulties, new dictionaries and atlases. Higos’ donation of £324 has made a huge difference for the children. A total of 52 books, 32 of which are atlases, have been purchased by St Michael’s with the donation. We are also delighted to have supported St Mary’s with the funding for them to purchase 80 books for their library.”
Clare Middleton, Deputy Headteacher of St Mary’s commented “We are very grateful for the donation of £300 from Higos Insurance Services. The school has now been able to purchase 80 non-fiction books for the library which is a very significant addition to the range of books the children can enjoy. The school has recently put in place a new reading scheme and we discovered a large gap in the range of books the children could access. With Higos' sponsorship, we have been able to fill this gap.”
Jack Clothworthy, Higos Yeovil and Bridport Branch Manager commented “As a local high street broker we are always happy to help the community by supporting schools and charities in the area. We are very pleased that the children at both St Michael’s and St Mary’s now have the books they need to help further their education.”
