Somerset Businesses Celebrate at the Somerset Business AwardsMonday 24th October 2016

We were delighted to once again sponsor the Business of the Year (51+ staff) category at the Somerset Business Awards, organised by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce.  The awards are held to celebrate the tremendous achievements of Somerset based businesses and this years awards ceremony was held at the Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton.

Bridgwater & Taunton College, Claims Consortium Group and Yeovil College were the finalists in our sponsored category, with Yeovil College being named as winner at the gala dinner attended by over 380 members of the Somerset business community. Jacqueline Dean, Chair of the Yeovil College Corporation and Mark Bolton, Director of Operations, were on hand to collect the prestigious award on behalf of Yeovil College from the awards host, BBC Points West presenter Alex Lovell.

Neil Wyatt, Head of Marketing at Higos Insurance Services, commented “Having had the privilege of judging this category for the past six years, this was without doubt the toughest decision yet, with so many high calibre entries received this year.  Claims Consortium Group won this award last year and Bridgwater College were winners of this award in 2012, so it was an extremely competitive category.  Yeovil College just pipped the two previous winners to the first prize and I congratulate them on their outstanding achievements in the past twelve months.  A special mention should also go to Norseland, who narrowly missed out on making it through to the final three.”
