Coronavirus Travel Update & What It Means For Travel Insurance.
Over the last few months we have been closely monitoring the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). As the COVID-19 situation develops, we want to keep our travelling clients up to speed with the changes that will impact them. We are pleased to announce we are now able to offer existing travel insurance for renewals and new travel insurance quotations however with specific restrictions in place and in accordance to the FCO travel advice.
The FCO has issued a new travel advisory notice for British nationals, they are continuing to advise against non-essential international travel, apart from some countries and territories which has been exempted that no longer pose a high risk for British travellers. Please see the full list of exempted countries and territories that came into effect on the 4th of July. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
There is currently no cover for cancellation or travel disruption related to Covid-19. However if you are to fall ill with Covid-19 symptoms whilst away, cover will still be provided under the Emergency Medical section under the policy (including repatriation). Please note if, at the start of a trip the FCO advises against travel and it subsequently changes mid trip, there will be no cover on the policy.
We are here to answer any questions you might have about the cover on your travel insurance policy, for independent advice for a quotation please contact your local branch through our branch finder. https://www.higos.co.uk/contact-us/
We will keep you up to date as things change and in the meantime for all of our clients to stay as safe as possible. With Higos, you always know you’re properly protected and can enjoy your holiday with complete peace of mind.
